Jakob Krug
architect
* 1877 in Rheindürkheim
† 1965 in Darmstadt
Jakob Krug attended the technical college and the mill academy in Worms and proved to be a particularly good draughtsman, which is why he was introduced to Joseph Maria Olbrich after working as a mechanical engineer for a short time. Krug then moved to Darmstadt and worked with Olbrich from 1901 to 1908. Initially working as an interior designer, Krug was entrusted with the planning of the wedding tower and the exhibition building. In 1908, he was one of the organizers of the Hessian State Exhibition on the Mathildenhöhe. In 1910, he designed the garden house for the Oberhessisches Haus on the Mathildenhöhe. In addition to his work on the buildings on the Mathildenhöhe, he also designed numerous villas. In 1962, he was awarded the bronze medal of merit by the city of Darmstadt;
