ARRIVAL BY TRAIN AND BUS

From Darmstadt main station, take the F/FM bus in the direction of Oberwaldhaus (departure at Platz 4 in front of the main entrance) to the “Lucasweg/Hochzeitsturm” stop. From here it is approx. 200 m to Mathildenhöhe.
From Darmstadt East only five to ten minutes on foot.

Advice:
The Darmstadt Card. It includes use of all public transport in the city (fare zone 40) and discounts at the Artists' Colony Museum and the Wedding Tower. 

BY CAR

There are no parking facilities on the Mathildenhöhe. Parking spaces within walking distance:

  • Parking garage Alice Hospital, Dieburger Str.
  • Jugendstilbad, Mercksplatz 1: Parking spaces for cars and 2 coaches. Approx. 800 m to the Mathildenhöhe. (Please note: maximum parking time 4 hours)
  • Justus-Liebig-Garage, Holzstraße 6. approx. 1 km to the Mathildenhöhe.
  • Parking garage darmstadtium, Alexanderstraße (opposite house no. 2). Approx. 800 m to the Mathildenhöhe on foot via the Erich-Ollenhauer-Promenade
  • Parking garage Schlossgarage/Karolinenplatz, Friedensplatz 4. Approx. 1 km to the Mathildenhöhe.

Disabled parking spaces: Two parking spaces are available at Olbrichweg 10, in front of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

Further parking spaces are available at REWE, Dieburgerstr. 24,  Jugendstilbad (Mercksplatz, public WC), on Messplatz and at the Böllenfalltor stadium.

FOR BUSES

Buses can only stop at Mathildenhöhe to allow guests to board and alight.

Parking is available at the Rosenhöhe in Wolfskehlstraße (address: Bernhard-Sälzer-Platz). From there it is approx. 500 m on foot to the Mathildenhöhe. 

FROM FRANKFURT RHINE-MAIN AIRPORT

About 30 minutes via the A5 (Frankfurt a. M. - Heidelberg/Basel).
A shuttle bus (Bus AIR: RMV.DE - AirLiner Direct bus Darmstadt - Frankfurt Airport) takes you directly to Darmstadt main station in 30 minutes

Two barrier-free parking spaces are available at Olbrichweg 10, in front of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences near the disabled-accessible entrance to the Künstlerkolonie Museum.

The Museum Künstlerkolonie has been tested according to the criteria of the nationwide “Travel for All” label and is authorized to use the “Accessibility tested” label and the associated pictograms in the period March 2023 - February 2026 and to use them in accordance with the contract.
